First off let me say how excited I am for this season! I am so blessed to have parents that are willing to help, and I thank you all for that! Here are some answers to the questions that you all had...
Fundraising/Payments:
-The payments for camp and camp gear are broken down each month; therefore, you are not paying entirely in full (although you can if you wish to). So each month that we fundraise it will be taken off of your monthly bill and you will pay the difference (if any) when payments are due. If you are a superstar fundraiser and raise more than you owe then it will be put into your account for future payments. Payments will be given to me and then I will transfer them to Head Coach A.
-Again, payments for gymnastics will be set up through an automatic withdrawal at Cheer Central on the day you choose.
Shoes:
A lot of you were concerned about shoe sizes. I talked with Coach Tice and she said she always suggests that all freshman order their shoes separately. You can go to www.omni.com and order any pair of ALL WHITE cheer shoes that you would like. This will allow you to return them if they do not fit properly, if I order them I cannot return, so you get what you get. I would really appreciate if you all did this soon (by this weekend) so we can be practicing in the proper shoes to begin with. These will be your shoes for the rest of the year, I won't make you buy a second pair. Coach Tice said you could find them as cheap as $25.
Remaining Middle School Sports:
We fully understand that your daughters need to finish out their commitments that they have already made and we expect the same for our team. I simply ask that you bring your athlete to practice as soon as they are finished with their prior commitments. Please email, text, or call me with all the dates your daughter will be late, leaving early, or possibly missing practice due to a prior game/practice. I would appreciate full and open contact about this subject so we can make everything work on both sides :) Good luck in your upcoming games ladies! If you will not be able to make it to gymnastics in May because of your other practices please call me so we can talk about your options.
Committees:
Here are the different opportunities to get involved:
- Homecoming float/parade
-Competition Bags:
>Tammy Benoit and Erin Moulton have already volunteered for this, thanks!
-State Bags
-Team Bonding activities (sleepovers, movies, bowling, BBQ, crafts party...)
-1 or 2 overall parent contacts
>Angie Roberts and Kelly Hunton
-Community Service
-Fundraising:
>We want to do program restaurant fundraisers so if you are interested I can get you in contact with the JV and Varsity parents that are running program fundraising, I would like a few Freshman parents to get involved in this
I know that I have missed some of the questions you all had so please, please feel free to remind me of everything you needed to know! Again, I am very excited to begin the season and continue the Eaglecrest tradition.
Congratulations to all of you lovely ladies for making the Freshman Cheer team, I'll see you tomorrow at 5:30, be ready to work!
Sincerely,
Coach Smith
